An acquaintance approached me about renovating her house. She was facing a small, cramped, barely usable kitchen, and an ugly tiny bathroom. She wanted me to help her figure out how to squeeze more usability out of her home. Unfortunately, due to unforeseeable circumstances the client moved shortly after hiring me, and the project was never fully realized.
After being approached by the client, I presented them with eight different plans. The final plan chosen opened up the covered porch to the living room, and closed off the hallway; converting it into an extension of the bathroom. The water heater would be moved to the attic, by the client who was a plumber. The plan also increased closet space in the bedroom, and created a multimedia room (one of the requests of the client was not to have a TV in the living area, and wanted it elsewhere).
